The House of Robots is about a boy named Sammy and a robot named E. Sammy’s mom created for Maddie Sammy’s sister who could not go to school because of an illness that she could only breath filtered air. Sammy was riding his bike to school and then he saw E’s bike a fresh new one that his mom made especially for E. Sammy was a little jealous and he tried avoiding the bus so he didn’t have to be seen with E but E was right on Sammy’s tail. When he got to school E followed Sammy around until language arts then E blew up. Next Sammy’s mom fixes E and learns that Sammy does not want to be around E. This makes Sammy actually smile a little. Then when he gets to school hanging around E after he has been fixed is actually pretty cool and the bully cooper just did not like Sammy. In the end E is robo napped and they start searching for him, putting signs up everywhere. Then the next day they get three boxes with parts of E in them. They need to figure out who did this? The Robotic dog they have smells peanut butter and banana sandwich. They suspect it was Cooper because he stole Trip’s, Sammy’s second-best friend, sandwich and ate it. So, he talks it to Cooper and he confessed. Everything ends well because E is fixed and Maddie can go to school now because E is her eyes and ears.

I like this book because it had many details in it. For example, the detail about every family member and what they do and who they are. I also like how the author made Sammy the narrator. One of things I also liked is that his mom has built a lot of robots and they have different jobs. One the robots is a retired football robot but now he just mows the lawn. I enjoyed the story of how his sister can go to school now through the help of a robot. The last thing I liked about this book is that it teaches a lesson about friendship.

Kids really like James Patterson books. I'm personally not a big fan because I don't find anything impressive about the writing, but maybe kids know something I don't. Books with lots of pictures tend to be big hits these days.

This story is about a nerdy kid named Samuel. His dad writes manga books and his mom invents robots. His house is full of robots, hence the name of the book. Samuel's mom designs a robot to go to school with him and he's not one bit happy about it. The robot, which he calls E, is a total geek and corrects the teacher all the time. The school bully really has something to tease him about now. When the robot gets in trouble, Samuel's mom reprograms it to be more cool and less geeky. Samuel begins to take a liking to the robot, and when E goes missing, he realizes that he should have appreciated it more.

There's just no character development in books like this. They are short and funny and intended to appeal to kids who aren't big readers. Tom Angleberger wrote a similar book about robots called [b: Fuzzy|1440148|Little Fuzzy (Fuzzy Sapiens, #1)|H. Beam Piper|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1348972417s/1440148.jpg|1876891] and though I didn't think it was particularly great either, I did like it more than this one. ( )

Slow start that was painful to get into, but really worth the time and effort once it kicks off. ( )

Sammy Hayes-Rodriguez is tired of robots, expecially his robot "brother," E. But when is is kidnapped, Sammy and his friends- both human and robot- must solve the mystery and save their friend.
