In exchange for a copy of the book, I am offering my honest review. This YA novel is told from the perspective of an older teen named George Wells - no relation to H.G. Wells, he points out although both have thought a great deal about time travel. With a light and easy tone, Mark Wakely has written a nearly 300 page novel that touches on some important themes: grief, inclusion (one character has ASD) the value of friendship which all emerge around the tumultuous period that arises in the final year of high school.Esta reseña ha sido escrita por los Primeros Reseñadores de LibraryThing. Enjoyable, accessible read of a coming of age story. Predictable plot unfolded but a pleasant journey. Esta reseña ha sido escrita por los Primeros Reseñadores de LibraryThing. A coming of age story with a great twist. Esta reseña ha sido escrita por los Primeros Reseñadores de LibraryThing. The stories are a slice of life for high schoolers, many told as cautionary tales on pranks, chewing tobacco, sexting, anorexia, explosives, and even drag racing. There are chapters featuring a school yard fight, talking back to a teacher, and mean girls. These are modern teenagers, but some of the dialogue and choice of vocabulary isn't contemporary (good heavens, stinks, jerk, butt, starting a question with say, scuttlebutt). Autistic is outdated, it's "on the autism spectrum". This ARC needs editing before the final release. Esta reseña ha sido escrita por los Primeros Reseñadores de LibraryThing. I really enjoyed this book. The story follows 3 friends during their final year of high school. I found the characters friendship, and the situations they dealt with, realistic and believable. I find that stories of kids in high school often either focus on the angst, or the characters popularity, or lack of it. But it was refreshing and more relatable to read a story of friends in high school who are focused on their friendship. I received this book as an early reviewers giveaway. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

George has been fascinated with the idea of time travel ever since the unexpected death of his mother when he was ten, and hopes someday to find a friend like Filby, the forever loyal friend of the time traveler in the 1960 movie The Time Machine. George’s two closest high school friends, Dave and Nancy (nickname Onion), struggle at times to understand his odd obsession as they deal with issues of their own both in and out of school. The story takes place during the three friend’s tumultuous senior year from beginning to end, with a major realization in store for George on graduation day. “Mark Wakely weaves an unusual tale with characters that are both emotionally and psychologically rich… The story is told from George’s perspective and in a first person narrative voice that is as clear as it is compelling. The prose is beautiful and evocative at times and I enjoyed the author’s peculiar turn of phrase, the humor, and his knack for vivid descriptions… It is a delightful read.” -- Readers’ Favorite.
