Fiction. Romance. Humor (Fiction.) HTML:From the New York Times bestselling author of The Love Hypothesis comes a new steamy, STEMinist novella…

It will take the frosty terrain of the Arctic to show these rival scientists that their chemistry burns hot.
/> Mara, Sadie, and Hannah are friends first, scientists always. Though their fields of study might take them to different corners of the world, they can all agree on this universal truth: when it comes to love and science, opposites attract and rivals make you burn…

Hannah’s got a bad feeling about this. Not only has the NASA aerospace engineer found herself injured and stranded at a remote Arctic research station—but the one person willing to undertake the hazardous rescue mission is her longtime rival.

Ian has been many things to Hannah: the villain who tried to veto her expedition and ruin her career, the man who stars in her most deliciously lurid dreams…but he’s never played the hero. As a woman in STEM, I am beyond sick and tired of seeing every man in a STEM work environment treat women terribly in books like these. To any girl contemplating going into STEM, don’t let stereotypes like these scare you off. It simply isn’t true 98% of the time. ( )

Cute, but the strong-willed damsel in distress who doesn't think anyone can love her was not my jam. ( )

Hannah doesn't want any emotional entanglements and she carries a grudge against Ian because she perceives him as getting in the way of her professional success. And then he rides in to rescue her from her own poor judgement. There was good comedy and banter, but not one of my favorites of the author. ( )

TW/CW: Sex, language, perilous situations

RATING: 4/5

REVIEW: This is one of the novellas in Ali Hazelwood’s Loathe to Love You collection. I bought them as novellas before they were published together. Below Zero is the story of Hannah and Ian, both NASA engineers. When they meet for an interview when Hannah is still in graduate school and it goes a bit past regular interviewing techniques, the encounter sticks with both of them as something they can never forget.

As with the rest of Hazelwood’s work, I love the smart girls who can take care of themselves. I love her guys, too, who are generally both sensitive and strong, and of course, brilliant as well.

This was an enjoyable book and a sweet love story, and I recommend to fans of STEMinist and contemporary romance. ( )

NASA scientists fall in love. Fun! Hannah's fear of not being good enough drives this story. Thankfully, Ian is willing to wait. Great having all the couples from the series come together near the end of the book, a wonderful way to say goodbye to this world. ( )
