Fantastic "self help" book about offloading the storage aspect of your brain to a digital system. This frees your brain for doing actually thinking, creativity, and pursuing other interests. Forte breaks down his concepts into easy to understand bits and then offers practical advice on how to implement in your life. This book is about the concept and practice, not dictating the tools you use. ( ) This is a really terrible self-help book because I already know all he’s gonna say is that you have to unplug from digital media. The book starts in a very offputting manner when the man attempts to buy a cell phone with no Internet access. I can tell the entire thing is a set up because everyone knows that the jitterbug phone appropriate for senior citizens who don’t want the Internet is easily available to anyone who wants one. Tiago explains methods of research and the lives of how people incorporated research into their lives. He lists methods of capturing, organizing, distilling, and expressing what I've learned. He also tells stories of how different people, both real and hypothetical, used these techniques to help reach their goals. A scholar-like mindset is also described in how to use certain habits to make the most of your time. This book reads to me like The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up by Marie Kondo but for the mind. Before this I just saved things on a whim without much thought. The book itself has a minimal amount of fluff, I never felt like it was dragging on. I see this as a source I would review every once and a while to make sure I got the most out of it. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
