The Killing Crew is suspected to be a group of British soldiers possibly connected to killings in the newly formed state of Israel. Excellent historic background as well as the story of the conflicts there. Suspenseful and stimulating.Esta reseña ha sido escrita por los Primeros Reseñadores de LibraryThing. A masterpiece of intrigue, author Murray Bailey took me to a point in history I knew little about. World War II is over and Israel is in its infancy. While the story is fictional, it is intertwined with historical events that make this story so believable. I was able to feel the heightened tensions and Bailey captures the anger and distrust against the British. Ash Carter and Bill Wolfe, the two main characters, are in Israel in pursuit of a notorious group known only as ’The Killing Crew’. The Crew is believed to be made up of British soldiers who are deserters. Kudos to Bailey. Esta reseña ha sido escrita por los Primeros Reseñadores de LibraryThing. I enjoyed reading The Killing Crew by Murray Bailey. The investigators in this book were working to determine who a group of people were who made up "the killing crew" and determine which killings seemed to have been committed by this group. While doing this, the investigators are trying to figure out if the group is made up of former soldiers of the British Army who deserted their posts, if the killings were done by a pro-Arab group or maybe even a pro-Jew group, or even another group they were not considering. I was kept on my toes trying to figure out who the bad guys were and how the story would end up. Esta reseña ha sido escrita por los Primeros Reseñadores de LibraryThing. I enjoyed reading The Killing Crew by Murray Bailey, an author I was not familiar with prior this book. The book is set just after the founding of the State of Israel and is about a series of killings believed to linked to rogue soldiers who had deserted from the British army as Britain was withdrawing its troops following Israel’s independence. I also found interesting the background information on the attitudes of the Arabs, Israelis, and British at that time and towards each. When I finished The Killing Crew I bought Cyprus Kiss another book in the Ash Carter series. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

I particularly enjoyed the new character Sylvia Rom hoping to join the Israeli Police Force, surely scope for her own story soon I hope.
Completely recommended. ( )
