Each devotional has a scripture, a story, a prayer, and either a "Did you know?" fact or "Get Ready To Roar" encouragement, and a "Find the Anchors" challenge. Love the artwork throughout the book. Easy to read and to understand. ( ) Roar Like a Lion by Levi Lusko is a Christian devotional for kids ages 6 to 10 years old. I was excited to receive a copy of this book to read to my oldest son, who is 6. We have been reading other children’s devotionals, so I was happy to try a different author. My son loved the idea of being like a lion (like Jesus) and enjoyed several of the devotionals. I felt like there were some that were over his head, but he is at the bottom of the age range listed. I liked how the devotionals addressed several difficult topics children may encounter at school or in life in general, encouraging them to stand out for Jesus. My son also liked the special little “Did you Know?” and “Get Ready to Roar” excerpts in each devotional. Overall, I think this is an excellent addition to our kid’s bookshelves. We try to read something inspirational each night, and books like these make it easy to both gain my child’s attention and to teach him about Jesus. I would recommend this product to any parent looking for a devotional for their elementary-age kids. I was given a copy of this book by the publisher with no expectations of a positive review. All opinions are my own. Enable Your Child to be Lionhearted! Want a way for your child to cope with bullies; handle anxiety about school and friends; deal with grief and challenges; be courageous and try new things; and understand how we fit into God’s plans? Look no further than this book, for inside it will be found answers to all those questions and more. This devotional has been written just for kids, helps them to understand God’s word, and His way to cope with all the cares of the world. There are brightly colored illustrations, prayers, suggestions to put into practice, Bible verses, and stories in the 90 different devotions. All of these are easy to read and written to appeal to children. By reading this, a youngster will be encouraged, grow in their faith, and assured of God’s guidance in all the situations they face. There is also an explanation of how God is our anchor, and He will keep our life steady no matter how much this world tries to shake us. To reinforce that point, there is a fun challenge to find the pictures of twenty anchors hidden in this book. I recommend this eye-appealing, and fun five-star devotion to children six to twelve-years-old. Many thanks to Thomas Nelson for providing Tickmenot with this product/product information for review. Opinions are 100% my own and NOT influenced by monetary compensation. I did receive a complimentary copy of, Roar Like a Lion, in exchange for this review and post. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR, Part 255. Being a kid in this era is tough, all of them dealing with pressures and trials that none of us ever had to at their age. They need encouragement and motivation, and that’s where Roar Like a Lion comes in, roaring like a lion, at just the right time. Although geared towards a younger audience, this book taught this 40 year old a thing or two, which I really admired, making it a great resource for “kids” of all ages! The writing is engaging, not hard to comprehend, and speaks to the heart. The themes are timeless, teaching children truths that will stick with them for life, and serving as excellent reminders for those of us who have been taught these principles. Aesthetically, the colors throughout are eye-catching, vibrant and beautiful, and I love the illustration style itself, showcasing the masterful talent of Catherine Pearson. This is a perfect gift for kids of all ages, and I cannot recommend this resource enough! *I have voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book which I received from the author/publisher for JustRead Tours. All views and opinions are completely honest, and my own. What is something you would tell your younger self if you could? One of the (many) words of advice I would have for myself is to develop healthy, life-long habits early. And one of those habits is a daily devotional time with God. Roar Like a Lion by Levi Lusko is a book that can start or continue a child or tween on the journey of developing the habit of spending time daily with God. Each of the 90 devotionals is written in a way that draws the reader in like the author is sitting right there with them. I appreciated the mix of scripture verses provided in the book along with the encouragement to look other verses up, driving the reader to God’s word. Lusko challenges young readers to be brave and take a stand when they see wrong done in their worlds. He acknowledges challenges and never preaches down to the reader but instead, kneels down to their level, recognizes the issue, and encourages courage. But that’s not all. There is also a fun and educational sidebar with facts about animals and history. I even learned a few things reading through this devotional. Whether you’re looking for something to read as a family or wanting to find something for your young reader to engage and encourage, look no further. Disclosure statement: I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book and was not required to write a positive review. All opinions are my own. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
