Beth has some very nasty levers in place, and by various means various people - from the Attendant to Amber to Tolden - take them down. There's a lot about the Attendant, and how the tenants are reacting to him and what he did - he's got more of a home on Escutcheon than he did anywhere else. Fortunately the Twelveworld Lord is just as happy about it - though he does come up with one odd angle and one very odd solution. A lot of people are breaking molds and moving forward, in personal and larger ways. I knew there was something fishy about those updates, but I didn't guess what was going on until it got clearly pointed out. And...poor Amber, it's going to be even harder on him, but at least Beth is no longer a threat. Even more good story. And this is supposed to be the last book (last novel, anyway) between Princes' Game and what comes next. Looking forward to it (and a maybe book with more short stories from different angles).
