I don't know, but the idea that she went to find a guy who used to be her man's best friend then fall for him like he's the best thing for her after hooking up with just disgust me. ( ) A Virgin River Christmas 3 Stars The focus in this book is on two new characters, Marcie Sullivan and Ian Buchanan, neither of whom has appeared in the series before. The events of the story actually take place during the timeline of the previous book, so there may be spoilers for those who do not read in order. While the story is touching, especially the realistic portrayal of the pain and suffering resulting from military casualties and PTSD, there are certain elements that fail to resonate. To begin with, the overt Christian themes did not appeal to me personally. Yes, this is a Christmas book and other readers will feel differently to me, so take this comment with a grain of salt. The most problematic issue revolves around Marcie's determination to find Ian and her stubborn instance on inserting herself into his life. Her actions come across as desperate and downright strange. Nevertheless, Marcie and Ian's romance works as their personalities and experiences complement each other and their relationship is sweet and endearing. The cameo appearances by the Virgin River regulars are an added bonus. Vanessa and Paul's book is next and I look forward to it. Another good one in the Virgin River series. It was so sweet. It made me laugh. It made me cry. With each book that passes, I fall more and more in love with this little town and the people there. They're all such an integral part of each book. Once you meet them, they keep on throughout the series. Really good read if you like the sappy, sentimental, heart felt romance type of book. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

HTML:A VIRGIN RIVER NOVEL Last Christmas Marcie Sullivan said a final goodbye to her husband, Bobby. This Christmas she's come to Virgin River to find the man who saved his life and gave her three more years to love him. Fellow marine Ian Buchanan dragged Bobby's shattered body onto a medical transport in Fallujah four years ago, then disappeared as soon as their unit arrived stateside. Since then, Marcie's letters to Ian have gone unanswered. Marcie tracks Ian to the tiny mountain town of Virgin River and finds a man as wounded emotionally as Bobby was physically. But she is not easily scared off. As Marcie pushes her way into his rugged and reclusive life, she discovers a sweet but damaged soul beneath a rough exterior. Ian doesn't know what to make of the determined young widow who forces him to look into the painful past and, what's worse, the uncertain future. But it is, after all, a season of miracles and maybe, just maybe, it's time to banish the ghosts and open his heart. No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |
