I rarely give 5 stars but I think this book deserves it! My interest was captured right from the beginning and continued until the end. I love how this author incorporates God and scripture into her writing. It's truly inspiring.
Annabeth and her family move to Ireland. Her father is the landlord of Galway Parish. Being away from the British court, Annabeth soon becomes bored. She becomes an apprentice at a jewelry store. Stephen Jennings, son of Seamus the owner of the shop, wants to get away from Ireland and the meaning of the Claddagh ring.
A friendship soon develops into love but can love be shared by these two different people? Read this book and find out! You won't be disappointed. ( )

This is my first book by this author and I’m looking forward to reading more by her. I thought she did a great job of researching the history of the location and great character development.

I think Ireland is a beautiful place and it’s one place I’d love to visit. This book took me there for a brief moment in history and I enjoyed my stay. The story was well developed and flowed very well. I loved the characters and was drawn into the story from the beginning and was sad to see the last page.

I recommend you read the Author’s Notes at the end and there’s even a Glossary of Terms…but I’ve learned that their language is not spelled the way it’s pronounced. ( )

In 1920, tension is beginning to rise between England and Ireland as Ireland seeks its independence from England. At this time English Lord De Lacy is appointed landlord of Galway Parish in Ireland. His daughter, Annabeth De Lacy convinces her father to arrange an apprenticeship for her with Seamus Jennings. His family have been crafting the Claddagh ring and sharing its legend with all who visit their family store. Stephen Jennings has plans to leave the family store which he knows his father wishes to carry on the family legacy. This is a story of family loyalty, courage and endurance.

I received this complimentary copy from LibraryThing and Revell Publishing. My review is unbiased and voluntary.

In the 1920s Ireland was still ruled by England. The relationship between the two countries was fractious and misunderstandings underpinned connections between the Irish and the English ruling over their land. This was the background of "The Lady of Galway Manor", the story of Anna, the daughter of an English lord in Galway and Stephen, the son of the jeweller in whose shop Anna was allowed to work. The inevitable happened between the two. The complications to any relationship came from their different backgrounds and the expectations to which they were supposed to conform.

It was an interesting story but some of the language bumped me a bit as it seemed to belong to an earlier age.

Lady Annabeth de Lacy has become fascinated with the famed Claddagh ring and convinces her father to let her do a scandalous thing: apprentice at the jewelry shop the ring is made. Having a lady as an apprentice is the last thing Stephen Jennings wishes, but cannot refuse the British lord who makes the request. Two worlds collide as these two try to understand that each other in a time of revolution and war.
This was a straightforward book with no surprises. Well, I suppose I was surprised by how little there was about the art of jewelry making and smithing. I was hoping for more of that based on the description.
Annabeth and Stephen were...well, honestly I found them uninteresting. He was burned by love once and has sworn off the emotion. She is the lady who isn't like other ladies (and I was never clear on why) who just wants to help where she can. Nothing was remarkable or even overly memorable about then, except for how difficult it was for them to communicate with each other!
I did get the sense that the author does have a love for Ireland. I just wish there had been more than just glimpses of the culture. That might have redeemed the book some in my eyes.
Overall, there is nothing offensive about this Christian historical romance. It just wasn't my cup of tea. Readers who have enjoyed her previous book may find this one interesting. ( )

This was a sweet story and I really enjoyed it! I quickly became invested in the story and finished it in an evening.

I really liked the characters in this story! Anna and Stephen were both great main characters. Anna was such a kind, compassionate MC and I admired her for her love for her family, especially for her little sister. As an older sister myself, I could see where she was coming from.
I really enjoyed watching Stephen’s character growth throughout the book, watching him learn to love again and put the past behind him.
I especially liked Stephen’s father, Seamus. He was the sweetest and I just wanted to give him a hug!❤️

The love story was so sweet! I loved watching these two grow from guarded with each other to opening their hearts to one another.

This book was rich in history and the setting! I haven’t read many books with the Irish setting so I absolutely loved that! It was interesting to learn what Ireland was like in the 1920s when the Irish and the English had such tension between them.
I also found the jewelry shop a neat setting. The story of the Claddaugh ring was also really interesting!

Though the faith in this book is subtle and I would’ve liked to see it a bit more, it was beautifully woven in!

In conclusion, I really enjoyed this sweet story! It was my first Jennifer Deibel book and I’m excited to see what she releases in the future. If you enjoy books set in Ireland that are rich in history and have a sweet, clean love story, I think you’ll enjoy this one!

Thank you to the publisher for a copy in exchange for a review! All opinions are my own. 😊
