I was delighted to discover that the main character is a shapeshifter!

Twelve year old Cordelia lives with her family in a remote castle. When nobles and soldiers arrive, demanding Cordelia’s mother hand over the heir to the throne, Cordelia and her triplet siblings escape into the surrounding forest.

I liked the mystery and the sibling dynamics and, of course, Cordelia’s ability to turn into different animals. ( )

Enjoyable but very predictable. This book feels too much like set up for the rest of the series (with an intriguing and clever premise, albeit) but not enough story in its own right. ( )
