Referring to my review of R.L. Stine's "Truth or Dare" in that there's cliches: this review consists of them, too. I'm imagining a CinemaSins counter bell chime each time a cliche is repeated. Terrified me when I first read it at twelve--ding! Went back, wondering how I'd react now--ding! While I remembered some of it clearly, most of it was new to me all over again. That was nice. The writing was more vivid here than in "Truth or Dare." I think everyone involved was a jerk, and another reviewer on this site points out that it was probably intentional. It was a way to change things up, for the main characters to know they are jerks. I did not like hanging around these jerks, though. I'm glad I got to read it again so I could react to it as an adult--ding! Review cliche count: Three. ( )
