This book is to show kids that it takes all of us, a diverse population which includes adults and kids to do things. The people in the book are working on a community project together. There's a line in it that says something about kids not coming with instructions (or something like that), and it says grown-ups don't either. I thought that was a good point to make for kids. ( )

This picture book does a nice spin of the African proverb of "It takes a village to raise a child", stating that children will thrive if the family thrives.

This book defines what it takes to build a village. The book also explains that no one comes with a set of instructions. Lastly, the book ends by saying that a village should be worthy of all children.

This picture book was a good book. I say this because this book was a very descriptive and detailed book, but still easy at the same time for children to understand. Also, the book relates to real, everyday life. In the book, it talks about how a child can help in the world and their community to make it a better place to be. This is a good book to read to students to help them understand what they can do to help out in the world and the role they take in society. ( )
