This story was about a little boy who wanted to buy ice cream from the Paletero Man! He runs throughout town to find him, dropping his money along the way. The local merchants return his money to him, and the Paletero man gives free ice cream to everyone because of their kindness.
This would be something I would pair along with discussions about doing the right thing, showing kindness, and being a good community member. I would say this is a good fit for Kindergarten and 1st grade. ( )

There is nothing better than the paletero! This is a book about the excitement of when the paletero passes by and rushing to his cart to get a palleta on a hot summer day. This book is great to show a snipet into what it is like to be excited about the paleta truck. It shows the different flavors of the paletas in Mexican culture. ( )
