The set-up was well done, the rebellion and the fate of Arabella's father believable. But her mother, in destitute conditions? Refusing to cope and trying to fall back on the aid of relatives, I can believe. But throwing her daughter out of the house with nowhere to live, to give her room and bed to a maid who she couldn't afford to pay -- I found that not the kind of story I wish to read, even if I found it plausible. And Janet Lunn is an outstanding author, I'm sure if she had more room to manoevre than the Dear Canada format of well under 200 pages, she could make it work. It's just not for me. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
