A young girl copes with the illness and death of her best friend in this poignant story. Grieving a loved one happens to us all eventually. Learning to accept, move forward and remember after someone special to us has died is one of life's difficulties. In this book the young girls parents, teacher and classmates help her grieve and come to terms with her loss. “Rudi’s Pond,” is a very sad story of a girl whose best friend passes away. The girl is not coping with the loss very well, so the teacher suggests that she build a memorial in the name of her friend to help her cope. The girl makes a pond and by finding a healthy outlet to cope with the loss of her friend, she learns how to regulate her feelings. I would recommend this book for ages 4-8. The illustrations are realistic and meaningful and give great context for the theme of the story. This book was found in the Pierce College Library. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
