Milo and Alice have been friends ever since college where they met and had instant chemistry (too bad she was already dating someone.) Alice later married and divorced her college boyfriend, and now it’s 15 years later and they’ve been dancing around the possibility of something more for years, neither making a move out of fear of wrecking the friendship. As with all of Penny Reid’s novels, this was delightfully quirky with wonderful characters. Live and Let Grow Strange Planet, Book 2 I Picked Up This Book Because: Wanted a short read. Media Type: eBook Source: Scribd Dates Read: 9/22/21 - 9/28/21 Stars: 4 Stars The Characters: Alice Hooper: Milo Manganiello: The Story: My “reviews” have been crap lately so I’m falling back to form writing to try and vamp them up a bit. Writing: Great. I love Penny Reid’s characters. You instantly feel like you know them and care about their struggles/lives. Forward Motion: Good. This story is super short so there was no time to lollygag. Overall Interest: Great. Friends to lovers seems to be my jam right now and Milo and Alice were the couple I didn’t know I needed to read about. Length of Reading Time: Average for me. I am a slow reader so print books take me many days. Re-read-ability:Not a likely re-read. The Random Thoughts: Alice is in love with her best friend. Now all she needs to do is tell him. Best buds Milo Manganiello and Alice Hooper have been the one constant in each other's lives for over 15 years. The charismatic and compassionate physics professor was there when Alice got married, and he was there 10 years later when she got divorced. Likewise, the candid and kind computer science professor has always been there for Milo. She babysits his apartment and plethora of houseplants when he's traveling, and they share breakfast together every day he's in town. Alice wasn't always in love with Milo, but the feeling has grown, and when Milo returns from his latest globe-trotting adventure, Alice decides it's time to spill the seeds.
