Lowry chooses to illuminate snapshot moments of her life in a way that also illustrates to her fans where she gets her book ideas. Each passage is no more than two pages and is illustrated by black and white family photos. Touching. Looking Back is a book from Lois Lowry's life events told form her own point of view. I loved her book The Giver and especially loved this book. She included personal books and personal stories from her childhood, motherhood, and being a grandmother. She included quotes from her books and it was very enjoyable. I loved how casually Lowry wrote this, it wasn't some boring page by page biography one might find on Wikipedia. When you read it, it felt like she was speaking it. I would have to agree that higher-grade level students should read this, but if one was doing an author study on Lois Lowry I think this book would be fine to share as a group. Appropriate grade level for this book would be 4th grade to7th grade. This book hasn't received any awards. This book is about Lois Lowry and where she gets all of her ideas from. Lowry answers questions through recollections of childhood friends, pictures and memories that explore her rich family history. She recounts the pivital moments that inspired her writing, describing how they magically turned into fiction along the complicated road of life. Uses in the classroom for this book would be to have the students create their own book of memories and create a timeline for each thing that they can recall. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
