The characters in the twenty short stories in this next Read on the Run anthology are all having trouble with time travel. Some have trouble with the equipment, some have trouble with what they find, others have to deal with unexpected consequences. Some travelers intentionally reach out to their past or future selves, others work to avoid this.Some travelers focus on the future, others focus on the past, a few look in both directions.Travelers travel by time machine, cell phone, time cap, elevator, compass, or without the need for a device at all. And then there are the mistakes made and paradoxes created when you mess around with time. I like time travel stories, so this anthology sounded very nice. As usual with anthologies, the quality between stories varies a little, though overall I’d say that it is pretty good, albeit not great, here. Definitely good enough to check it out – you’ll probably finde one or the other story you like here.

What a fun read. With only 2 or 3 stories that were a bit overly sentimental or ho-hum, the bulk of this anthology was enjoyable. I like that each author had their take on how time travel works. A handful of true gems here as well. I like the Hotel elevator and the one about the poker player the best - or at least they stood out the most. If you enjoy time travel sci-fi this is worth picking up. Not too much time to invest but new authors to discover. (

I received a free copy of this book through the early reviewers program here in exchange for an honest review. I never enjoy collections of short stories, so I don't know why I requested it. There are some great writers involved, and the stories that I managed to get through were okay, but this just wasn't for me. (

As with most anthologies, this was a mixed bag. I enjoyed some of the stories a lot, a few I stopped reading after the first page, and most were in the middle. Overall, I’m glad I read it and would recommend it to time travel fans interested in a variety of fun and intriguing quick reads.
