The most recent “Warbird” novella, intended for reluctant or dyslexia readers, is about a seventeen year old living in Germany in 1944. Ingrid keeps quiet because if an important Nazi hears her stutter, they might decide she’s disabled and send her away. She’s spent most of her time at her local gliding school, helping out and learning to fly, and eagerly accepts a job doing propaganda demonstration flights with test pilot Hanna Reitsch. But she has to decide what to do with the information she discovers. It’s a fascinating story. As always with these novellas, I wanted more details, but the story is complete without them. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

Apparently Hannah Reitsch was an actual pilot who was confronted by the atrocities of the Nazi regime and was slow to see what was happening. ( )
