The book provides information about the differences in size between animals who are similar in other ways. Each page features a large animal and a related smaller one. For example, Siberian tiger and Siamese cat, ostrich and ruby-throated hummingbird. I liked how the author writes a one line text on the two animals' sizes, habits, or habitats. At the end of the book, there are additional information such as the comparative sizes of all the animals, a paragraph for more information about each species, and a bibliography. This book will please both young children and adults because of its visually attracting images and easily digestible bits of information. ( ) Big & Little, written and illustrated by Steve Jenkins, is an informational picture book for young readers. Each page compares two animals, each from the same family, ranging from snakes to kangaroos and everything in between. The author does an excellent job of comparing each animal in terms of size, by putting the animals on an identical measuring scale. The author also compares the animals ranging from where they live, what they eat, and how they care for their young. The content of this book is clearly written, and it often relates factual information to everyday life. This book would be an excellent resource for elementary school students and teachers, as it presents information in a way that is interesting and intriguing to students. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
