NF If you’ve read ‘Loving What Is’ by Byron Katie and ‘What To Say When You Talk To Yourself’ by Shad Helmstetter - you don’t have to read this book. It’s the same information. I’ve really enjoyed Acuff’s previous books but this I felt was an exact copy of those other books published long before this one and not as well written. I gave it 3 stars because if you haven’t read those other books, this is a shorter synopsis of both and could be helpful. Two things that I know to be true: 1) Our self-talk (otherwise known as the soundtracks that we play in the back of our heads) is self-fulfilling. 2) Jon Acuff is an inspiring motivational speaker and author who has a way of putting into words life practices that should be intuitive, yet...aren't. These two things have been intertwined into Jon's newest book, Soundtracks: The Surprising Solution to Overthinking. Jon is a relatable author who promises, and delivers, the solution to turning our self-talk soundtracks into positive motivators. He breaks the process of tapping into the power of overthinking into three simple steps: Retire, Replace, Repeat. These steps are just the beginning towards a new way of thinking and helping us break free from the negative soundtracks that hold us back and keep us from achieving our goals and dreams. Jon concludes the book with a New Anthem, that if implemented, has the power to totally transform your way of thinking and, ultimately, your life. I realize that’s an audacious claim to make but I’ve only been using the Anthem a few days and I can already feel the difference in the way I think and talk to myself – and I already considered myself a positive person! sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

Overthinking isn't a personality trait. It's the sneakiest form of fear. It steals time, creativity, and goals. It's the most expensive, least productive thing companies invest in without even knowing it. And it's an epidemic. In Soundtracks, New York Times bestselling author Jon Acuff offers a proven plan to change overthinking from a super problem into a superpower. If you want to tap into the surprising power of overthinking and give your dreams more time and creativity, learn how to DJ the soundtracks that define you. If you can worry, you can wonder. If you can doubt, you can dominate. If you can spin, you can soar. No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |
