I was a huge fan of Jess Mastorakos San Diego Marines series and now her Kailua Marines series is off to a fabulous start. This story centers around Molly and Roman who readers met in the last book in her San Diego series. After her wedding doesn't happen, Molly decides to go ahead on her Hawaiian honeymoon by herself. In the airport, she runs into Roman who is on his way back to Hawaii. They had met the last time Molly was in Hawaii. At the resort, Molly realizes she forgot one detail and that was to let the resort know she would not be arriving with her husband. Cue the fake relationship with Roman. But does it stay just a fake relationship? You'll have to read it to find out.

I absolutely loved Molly and Roman's characters. Molly reminded me a lot of myself with her to do lists, her planned life, and her lack of spontaneity and Roman reminded me a lot of my own husband who thrives on adventure and spontaneity and loves the Marine Corps for the opportunity to see the world and experience new things. Because of her own love story, Jess Mastorakos always truly captures the heart of a Marine in the heroes of her books. I can't wait for Mac's story coming soon.

I was given a copy of this story by the author in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed are entirely my own. ( )

Treasured in Turtle Bay, by Jess Mastorakos, is book one in the Kailua Military series. This is a sweet story that takes places modern day in Hawaii with Molly and Roman. Molly’s fiance dumped her just before their wedding but, she goes on the honeymoon anyways. She runs into a military friend of her boss on the plane. He is returning to the military base. He comes to her rescue to when she looses her planner and again when she realizes she is still signed up to take part in games as a newlywed.

This is a sweet, quick to read story. Perfect for a cold winter evening to read. The writing is so good, it is easy to get taken away and feel the warm and hear the waves. It is easy to feel a part of what is happening in the story. I enjoyed the interaction between the two main characters. Molly is introduced in the last book in the San Diego Marines series, so it is fun to catch up with her and read her story. I especially enjoyed seeing the change in Molly as she goes from someone who has to have everything planned an organized to someone who is willing to just do something without planning. I also enjoyed how her boss realizes to much is expected of Molly and makes a plan for when she returns.

I received a complimentary ARC copy of this book from the author, this is my honest review. ( )
