The illustrations would have worked better for me if the various people and critters who accompanied Sandy would have interacted as they joined in, but, no, the gypsy woman was laying her snare each of the eight times we saw her. Otherwise I like the creativity of Ness's art style for this retold rhyme. And I appreciate the endnote that explains this is a recollected family take on a traditional rhyme, not authentic folklore.
