He suggests she talk to the Hollywood actress in town who's working on becoming a PI and is rumored to be able to talk to ghosts. It seems like a win-win situation-Sloane gets a client who doesn't care if she's famous, and Rachel can confide in someone who won't think she's lost her mind. 2nd book in the Cedar Creek mystery series featuring Sloan as an amateur PI, Deputy Tristan as her boyfriend, and Chelsea, the ghost that Sloan helped in the prior book.
Alternating chapters from Sloan’s point of view, and Rachel Graves, a nurse who is losing her property after the death of her husband.
Fast moving and compelling the mystery will keep your interest.
I’m still not all that fond of Sloan but she is getting better. At least one of the conflicts would have been avoided if she just talked it out. Her personal connections are growing with this second book and we can hope those make her more likable. To everyone. Then again, I think Tristan needed to open up too.
Don’t get me wrong. I did enjoy this book much more than the first. It kept my interest and veered off the predictable once or twice.
I look forward to reading more from this series and other Cedar Creek books. ( )
