I have an inside view into Mathers's books because I know about her life, but I hope that her books resonate with everyone as wonderfully as they do with me. This is the last in the closest thing she has to a series, the books about Lottie. I love the mis-matched couple of the Dodo and the Seabird and I find such comfort in her books as she takes us (the reader) around the area where Mathers now lives (which just happens to be where I grew up). Everything from the Seabird's Coast guard injury to the little windmills is absolutely charming. ( )
