The book is the tale of a country girl displaced to New York City in 1899 and her run-in with New York street gangs. I loved the story! Abigail is feisty & smart. Little Wade & the Watchtower are well thought out. Old New York was beautifully rendered in a way that I, a resident of the City, could picture the scenes well. There were a few spots where the book dragged a touch but, as an adult, I'm not exactly the target audience. Overall, I found the book delightful and look forward to reading the further adventures of the trio.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. ( )
