Lizzy Bennet loves life as a lawyer in the city. And not just because of the miles it puts between her and her ex. However, when she's attacked on the street just hours after learning her identity was stolen, she tries to call home for help and ends up with the last person she expects: the very same high school boyfriend who broke her heart. He says he's there to help, but she's not so sure, and now, all the endless questions and regrets are clouding her judgment and preventing her from seeing the dangerous saboteur closing in. Small-town auto mechanic, Koby Knightly, is looking forward to seeing a car show in the city. But when an unexpected call from his old girlfriend disconnects suddenly, he rushes to her aid. Throwing his plans out the window, Koby makes it his mission to protect her and discover the identity of the person trying to frame her. Will he also be able to figure out what went wrong between them back in high school or will a killer get to her first?… (más)

As I began reading this book, I quickly found myself caught up in the suspense of this novel. Lizzy Bennet walks home at night in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and believes herself to be in danger. I love how she debates between calling her ex-boyfriend or her brother, who is a deputy. Circumstance and coincidences create an excellent plotline for this book.

The characters in this book came to life, and the storyline did as well. From Pittsburgh to the small town Lizzy and Koby grew up in, the settings provide the perfect backdrop for this book.

The story illustrates how forgiveness and communication play a vital role in finding the future God intends for us. I have to say this book definitely grabbed my attention and deserves to be read. So check out this book for yourself.

I received a complimentary copy of this book, but this in no way influenced my review. All opinions are my own. ( )

If you are looking for a story that is intriguing, full of adventure, a bit of romance and guides characters with faith, then this is the book for you. The author defines her characters very well and instantly I liked where the story was going. It was easy to connect with the plot and held my attention throughout.

Lizzy is a gifted lawyer who has worked very hard to achieve her status at the law firm. Everything seems to be going well until an attack on her life shakes her to the core. Why is she being targeted? Does she know something that puts her in danger? Her character has come into question and thus begins the cat and mouse game to prove her innocence.

Koby is someone that you are drawn to by his quiet but strong moral character. The last thing he ever expected was to get a call from his ex Lizzy crying out for help. Cue the knight in shining armor. This little detour will change their lives as Lizzy looks to Koby to help her. Now I can’t tell you much more because what would be the fun in that? The author does a great job of keeping readers guessing as the action never stops.

Lizzy can’t catch a break as she is constantly in danger. While I loved the intrigue, I really enjoyed the background story between Lizzy and Koby. One tragic night separated these two years ago. A misunderstanding that grew into a wall built between their feelings cost them a relationship. Koby has carried around guilt for years, while Lizzy has let anger fester into detachment from any real relationship with anyone.

As the author explores this moment in time, we see how faith works its way to soften hearts that leads to forgiveness. I loved how Lizzy tries to communicate with Koby but I think her pride keeps her from letting the past go. Not only is the story filled with suspicious characters but there is an underlying theme of forgiving and being set free from the past.

I loved how the author surprised me with the ending and I never once suspected how the guilty person was connected to Lizzy and Koby. I appreciate the action and how people came together to stop a dangerous person. Overall a great story with just enough intrigue to keep readers guessing til the end.

I received a copy of this book from Celebrate Lit. The review is my own opinion. ( )

I really enjoyed this story and Koby and Lizzy's complicated relationship. This was one of those books where the characters lingered nearby between reading times and I looked forward to going back to their world. This was a five star read for me that I would happily recommend to my friends! ( )

This book is part of a series, but I didn’t feel lost reading this as my first. The story is very fast paced, and you will find yourself holding your breath with the danger.
Surprises abound, and I really didn’t see the ending coming.
We all make assumptions, and these characters sure do, but like real life we ofter assume the wrong thing.
This is a story to get lost in, and I’ll be looking for more in this series, and by this author!
I received this book through Celebrate Lit, and was not required to give a positive review. ( )

Sprinkled with Sabotage is one of those books that is perfect to read sitting by a fire or soft candlelight, on a cool, fall night. The mystery and suspense is immediate, instantly enveloping you in the world that is St. Claire. Despite the horrible situation that Lizzie finds herself in, the main focus is on her relationship with her high school boyfriend, Koby.

Seeing them together you know they have something special, and deep down they both feel it too, but their abstracted perceptions of a particular past event is what is preventing them both from moving on. I cheered for them the whole time while also trying to figure out "who done it."

There are several character that are mentioned a few times that I assume are from the first two installments, but the author did a great job of filling in the plot line as a whole so I never once felt lost. Actually, them being mentioned makes me curious, so now the first two books are on my TBR so I can view the series as a whole, and hopefully be prepared for a book four, if it ever comes to fruition.

Sprinkled with Sabotage was such a quick, entertaining read that I highly recommend. It's the perfect length, has a great setting and wonderful characters, and has all the ingredients for an entertaining read. A little suspense, a little mystery, and a lot of love.

I also must add that I am in LOVE with this cover! It could be because I am currently on a strict eating regimen and can't have anything sweet, and donuts are one of my favorite foods. Ugh! The covers on this entire series make me want to cheat on my diet SO. Bad. Whoever designed them has found the key to my heart!

*I have voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the author. All views and opinions are completely honest, and my own. ( )
