Featured here are the first seven stories of the Oz chronicles, each with the original introduction by the author. In a nice leather bound edition, this book looks serious on a shelf, but is quite silly on the pages within.
The world of Oz is a magical, timeless world. Occasionally, villains emerge, but are soon put down before causing any serious trouble, and the rest of the Oz denizens life a life of happiness. It's not the most world-changing thing, but it is a delight to read both by yourself and to children. Baum builds a wonderful world with his words that other authors have tried in vain to recreate.
This is a must have for anyone looking for an Oz omnibus. ( )
