This story is a good example of a fantasy because the reader believes that the bear can talk and go out to eat but in reality bears do not talk and can not do human things. This book also gives a good example of a flat character because not much is known about the girl in the story. All the reader knows is that she is mean and takes the bear without being asked. She is egotistic and does not care about the bear’s owner; however, that is all the reader knows about her. Her real emotions and wants are not shared. Age appropriate: primary.
