As ordinary men and women discover the truth about the Elder Gods and their dangerous ways, they begin to doubt their own sanity. I really enjoyed the book The Call of Cthulhu and Other Stories it was better than I was expecting it to be.

One of the protagonists is a man named Herbert West. He is a scientist who was working on bringing things back to life. He first started with small animals like guinea pigs, rabbits, and other small animals but eventually decided he wanted to try and bring humans back to life which causes some bad things to happen. One of the antagonists of the book is a hound like creature that is linked with some sort of cursed amulet. After two of the protagonists take the amulet the hound starts to attack people, eventually attacking one of the protagonists that had taken it.

One of the settings of this book was the basement of an old abandoned house which had strange unnatural fungus all over it. The way the author describes the place sets an uneasy tone and makes it seem like it is uncomfortable to be in that place. This setting works really well because the place is very unusual and it helps the reader understand that there is something wrong with the place.

One of the main problems in the book was that some of the characters are interested in an old abandoned house that had weird things happen with the people that used to own it they were also interested in how the house was covered in some weird fungus and then they eventually decided to go into the basement to investigate the house and eventually discover that some strange creature had something to do with all of the unusual fungus that was growing all over the house and also had something to do with the things that had happened to the people that used to own the house.

I think the book does a good job of showing that there might be things out in the world that we might not ever understand. It does this by having the characters never really understand any of the things that they see and experience. Like at one moment where the author is foreshadowing one of the chapters where the character is terrified about something that he does not understand.

One thing I liked a lot about this book was that it was very noticeable when one of the characters encountered one of the supernatural creatures or places because it goes from being somewhat normal to being immediately unnatural. However, one thing that I did not like as much was how some of the creatures that were mentioned were not described as well as some of the other creatures that made appearances in the book.

In the end though this book was a very good read and I would recommend it to anyone who is interested in books about supernatural creatures and events. But I would not recommend this book to anyone who is looking for something that is more realistic and is not about anything supernatural. ( )
