I mistakenly thought this graphic novel was based on the CW series due to the fact that it has characters drawn in the likeness of the actors on the cover. Silly me... this has nothing to do with it. It's basically introducing you to the comics if you never read them before watching the show. I hadn't and I never really wanted to. I don't enjoy the humor in the comics - I just don't find it funny. Wouldn't' recommend this if you are looking for something that pairs with the tv show. This isn't it. ( )

As someone who read Archie comics as a kid, this was interesting from a cultural standpoint. I'm a fan of Fiona Staples and definitely enjoyed the artwork but ultimately, this is clearly crass commercialization and an attempt to keep the comic relevant and selling to a modern audience. ( )
A little unusual in that this is the first issues of the revamped Archie line of comics. On the plus side it is a way to easily check out 5 different comics. It has been a long time since I have read any Archie stuff with the exception of the horror titles the last couple of years. I was pleasantly surprised to revisit Riverdale and see how the gang has come along. Now I need to track down the other issues to see how the story goes from here. ( )
As a fan of the show, I checked this out from my library via Hoopla. It was a nice sampler of the first issues of various new Archie titles. I read the books fondly as a kid in the 70's and like the reboots for a modern, relevant audience. I plan to check out more from this line. ( )
