I will admit I read this book with a heavy heart. I knew going in this is the final book in the Magical Cures Mystery Series. I read it slowly, drawing out the end as long as possible. If you ask me can this book be read as a stand-alone, I’m going to tell you no. Start at the beginning and read them in order. It’s the only way to get the full story.
June Heal is the star of the series. Raised as a mortal, she hasn’t had a long time in the spiritual world. Her mother had to leave Whispering Falls with baby June. I’ll let you discover the why’s and what happened of all that by reading the series. In this book, June has married Oscar and they are expecting a baby. June becomes involved in a mystery that occurs at her doctor’s office. It is a big one. One that can end the spiritual word. Will June be able to solve this mystery without harming her baby? The only way to know is to read the book.
I enjoyed the book. This series didn’t start out strong for me. Reading the first book, I craved Ding Dongs. But each book brought me closer to June and Whispering Falls. I’m writing this and my heart is in tears. I will miss June, Oscar and the quirky, lovable town of Whispering Falls. I know that we will see some characters visiting other series. We had that crossover happen with the Killer Coffee Series. I can’t wait to see who pops up and where. My heart, though, dreams of a return to Whispering Falls. ( )

This was a a fun read. As June is awaiting the birth of her baby she is having a time of it. The baby is already making itself known before it is even here and June soon finds herself with much time on her hands as she needs to rest more before the baby arrives. She soon finds herself busy though when she goes to a doctor's appointment and finds the receptionist dead. She realizes that she just can't do nothing like she is supposed to and soon finds herself putting her brain to the test to find find out what happened.
I received a copy of the book the review is mine..

I loved this magical story. I have just started to get into the cozy mysteries that have magic in them in the last year or so and this has always been one of my favorite series. I love June and her magical powers and the rest of the town. June needs to make sure that her town stays a mystery or it might disappear. She needs to help solve a murder while she is pregnant. I love all the characters and the familiar. I did not want to put this book down. I received a copy of this book from the author for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will. ( )

A Charming Deception Magical Cures book 13 by Tonya Kappes is an amazing, wonderful, magical book. I think this was the perfect ending to the series.

June and Oscar are expecting a baby and are so excited as well as all of Whispering Falls. All is going well until the receptionist at June's Doctor's office is found murdered. June and Oscar have to hurry and solve this murder before the baby comes so they can save the whole magic world.

This book is a mix of mystery, magic, emotions and love. June has come so far and really is an important part of Whispering Falls. I love her interaction with all the other people in the village. I laughed so hard when the sisters Constance and Patience carry a flour sack around like a baby. One of my favorite parts was when nurse Martha comes into A Charming Cure and is acting suspicious and is being too inquisitive about June, Whispering Falls and what Roma, the receptionist who was killed, was up to. June needs to find out what Martha knows so she gives her a dab of truth potion. Martha gets tipsy, starts talking fast and funny then falls to the floor asleep. The sisters Constance and Patience are there and they think Mr Prince Charming, June's familial cat, is smiling at Martha's demise. I could just imagine it all and found myself laughing out loud.

This is such an enjoyable book and a good way to end the series. This is a good mystery with a good twist in who the murderer is. I was surprised by who did it. It is also a nice way to tie up the journey June Heal and Oscar Parks has been on within Whispering Falls and their lives. I give this book 5 stars. I loved it and I am sorry to see the series end.
