My first book by the author, I might try another. ( ) For 6 generations, the Moon girls have tilled the New Hampshire farm and healing the locals with their "gifts". But Elzibeth isn't having any part of it, ashamed by her hippie mother's ways. After her grandmother dies, she returns to the farm to settle the estate and finds that she can't break away from the ways. She needs to keep and work the farm. When matriarch Althea Moon dies, it is up to her granddaughter, Lizzy, to handle the estate of the Moon Girl Farm, abandoned years earlier following a pair of tragic drownings that sparked rumors of murder. Lizzy reluctantly undertakes the task of preparing the farm for sale, crossing paths with people from her past: townsfolk, her grandmother’s best friend, her childhood crush, Andrew, and her mother, Rhanna. Each interaction comes with its own set of complications as Lizzy discovers a new purpose for her return, which is to clear her grandmother’s name of wrongdoing. The investigation isn’t without danger, nor is involving Andrew in it. Moon women vow to live alone, to raise daughters in the craft. Her heart and her family name are at stake. A little bit of romance, some murder mystery that I’d call “cozy-ish” (limited on-page violence with the drowning and murder happening mostly in the past), and with a hint of Alice Hoffman-esque homage to green witchcraft, The Last of the Moon Girls is a touching, mysterious family saga that will appeal to fans of Practical Magic. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
"Lizzy Moon never wanted Moon Girl Farm. Eight years ago, she left the land that nine generations of gifted healers had tended, determined to distance herself from the whispers about her family's strange legacy. But when her beloved grandmother Althea dies, Lizzy must return and face the tragedy still hanging over the farm's withered lavender fields: the unsolved murders of two young girls, and the cruel accusations that followed Althea to her grave. Lizzy wants nothing more than to sell the farm and return to her life in New York, until she discovers a journal Althea left for her - a Book of Remembrances meant to help Lizzy embrace her own special gifts. When she reconnects with Andrew Greyson, one of the few in town who believed in Althea's innocence, she resolves to clear her grandmother's name. But to do so, she'll have to decide if she can accept her legacy and whether to follow in the footsteps of all the Moon women who came before her." --Publisher.
