Extremely well-conceived & -written scenario mixing real history [present day at time of writing] with plausible projections to create excellent modern fiction. Unfortunately, my copy was never returned when I loaned it out. [sigh] But that *does* say something for the quality of the read! ;) ( ) This book is a 680 page narrative of the far right pro gun, pro little government viewpoint. I was entertained by the book, but do not agree with it's political stance. I think it might even be useful for bad actors in some ways unfortunately. I also think the author wrote it for like minded people to learn from. Unintended Consequences is a decently written book with a coherent theme. It is unapologetically pro gun, pro second amendment. I found it to be an interesting story that made me think about gun policy and bureaucratic feature creep. With some reservations considering the political and gun advocacy position of the book, I would not hesitate to recommend this book as a good story and a good read. I do not recommend the book for those who think guns are bad, no discussion allowed. The same goes for any one whose blood pressure goes up in any political discussion. The half star review on this book is obviously driven by hatred of the pro gun theme and not the literary merits of the book. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
A rising by the pro-gun lobby brings the government to its knees. The story begins when Henry Bowman, a geologist in Iowa fires on federal agents, thinking they are terrorists. The conflict escalates, agents and congressmen die, and to bring peace the president agrees to repeal anti-gun laws and pardon the rebels. No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |
