(fonte: google books) A concise, well-written history of the unfathomable horror of the Nazi death camp known as Auschwitz. No matter how many accounts of WWII atrocities I read, either in fiction or non-fiction, I can never get a grip on the immensity of the human loss. This belongs on the shelf next to the classics of Holocaust fiction and memoir, to remind us all of the scale of the wickedness. This is an excellent mini-history of Auschwitz, covering all the salient points in a mere 100-odd pages. I, who have read over 250 books on the Holocaust, learned something from this book in spite of its short length. I would especially recommend this to people who need to know about Auschwitz but aren't up for intensive study on the subject. I had to read this for a World War II history class. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
A short and thoroughly accurate history of the Auschwitz concentration camp, this compelling book is authoritative in its factual details, devastating in its emotional impact. No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |
