I read this as a child, I am not sure where I got the book, but it has always stuck in my mind. Recently, everything I seem to read mentions Nantucket Island, and it pops up in the weirdest of places. I feel I am destined to visit it.
It is a really interesting story about a girl and her father who go stay on an island in the summer, an island that she doesn't know she is deeply connected to through her mother.
She finds herself caught up in the islanders fight to stop developers.
Something about the island captured me, and I look forward to the day when I step foot on it myself. ( )

This was a favorite book as a child. Deliciously creepy. ( )
