Robert, John, Katiana, Selina, Andrea, Danny, Josh, and Tauni give us a glimpse into the daily life of a child’s life in various parts of Alaska. Real time photographs accompany the biographies of each child’s interests, geographical information, and family traditions. A great connector to when studying Alaska’s Indigenous people. In this book Tricia Brown follows the lives of eight Alaskan children from various areas of Alaska. The children have mixed lives between modern conveniences and their traditional way of life. The book also tells about how the children learn traditional ways from their grandparents. This book had beautiful pictures and everything about these children is extraordinary. I think that too often we take our elders for granted. These children have to pay attention to their elders to ensure their way of life continues. This book would be a great way to discuss the differences and similarities between the Alaskan children and themselves. Also, this would be a good book to use in social studies while studying the 50 states. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
