Some short stories in this book. The main characters are people who live in New York. There are poor people and also rich people. Second story,I read a part in reading class.Of course, this is so fun! But,I prefer first story to second story. In this story, there are poor couple before christmas day and chirstmas day. After the wife sold her hair and get money, she bought a chain for husband's watch,but... This story is full of love.I like this story. There are poor and young couple in town. On Christmas Day, wife decide to buy present for husband but she have a little money. So she get money by selling her precious thing and buy present. when she return home, a tiny miracle happened... After reading this,my heart was warming. Story show us love is more strong than money. If i marry someone, i want to be such a gentle couple. This book is made by short stories. All stories happened in New York. I like first story. The title is "Christmas Present". Della is a poor woman, she just has little money everyday. It's December and near the Christmas day then. So she wants to buy Christmas present for her husband James. However she has only little money, so that she can't buy present. .. My favourite story is first one that I introdused here. When I read this story I feel sorry for her life style. Altough she is poor, she is happy beause she loves her husband. I guess she satisfied with her life style. I enjoyed reading. I pick up "The Christmas Present". Della has little money every day, she is poor woman. She wants to buy a present for her husband, James. So she has her hair cut and sells it. I know this story and I like it. This story is little stupid, but I think their love is real one. I want to love someone like them. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

A housewife, a tramp, a lawyer, a waitress, an actress - ordinary people living ordinary lives in New York at the beginning of this century. The city has changed greatly since that time, but its people are much the same. Some are rich, some are poor, some are happy, some are sad, some have found love, some are looking for love. O. Henry's famous short stories - sensitive, funny, sympathetic - give us vivid pictures of the everyday lives of these New Yorkers. No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |
