Secrets Resurfaced by Dana Mentink is the fourth book in her Roughwater Ranch Cowboys series. Dory Winslow, a private investigator, has uncovered new evidence about a tragic boating accident that put her ex-boyfriend’s father in prison. Determined to find out the truth she’ll have to team up with her ex, Chad Jaggert, because someone doesn’t want the truth exposed. Dory was one tough woman. With everything the bad guys throw at her she still comes out on top! There’s a lot of past hurts in this story but there’s a lot of forgiveness too. The way Chad protects Dory is so sweet even though he still has a lot of pain to work through. Another great story from Dana. I received this book from the author for my honest review. What I think you should know: Secrets Resurfaced is the fourth book in the Roughwater Ranch Cowboys series by Dana Mentink. This book does include characters from the first three books in the series , however it can be read as a standalone novel. (I personally recommend starting at the first book in the series as this series is action packed and will keep you on your toes!) This book features Chad Jaggert What I think about this book: I am so excited to finally have Chad’s story as I have loved the series and wanted to know more about him as the series progressed. He is such a loyal friend and I wanted him to receive his happy ever after too. I was excited to see that he was going to start a therapy program for veterans and was disappointed that it did not play a bigger part in the story. Dory was a harder character for me to connect with and forgive. I could not understand how she felt she could hide Chad’s daughter from him and some of the choices that she made in the book. This was definitely a case of bitterness from her past clouding her judgement. I enjoyed the mystery of the story and kept guessing as the answer. The story is fast paced but contains enough hooks to make you care about the characters. Mentink wrote a wonderful end to a series that I have grown to love. I received a complimentary copy of this book from Celebrate Lit, this in no way influenced my review. All opinions are my own. Secrets Resurfaced is an exciting final story in Dana Mentink’s Roughwater Ranch Cowboys series! When fresh evidence regarding a tragic boating accident surfaces, private investigator Dory Winslow determines to uncover the truth. Of course, this brings her into contact with ex-boyfriend Chad Jaggert. The pair needs to delve into the past for the sake of not only the accident, but also their relationship. With suspense, intrigue, and a lot of emotion, the story unfolds around them. I so enjoyed the story between Dory and Chad. The twists kept me on my toes, exactly as I hoped they would. Light and fun and fast-paced, Secrets Resurfaced is sure to delight readers of romantic suspense. I received a complimentary copy of this book and the opportunity to provide an honest review. I was not required to write a positive review, and all the opinions I have expressed are my own. I have to admit it took me a little bit to get caught up in this book, but once I did I could not put it down. The idea of someone being thought to be dead showing up alive after almost 5 years was incredible. As I kept reading, I had an idea of how this suspense novel was going to turn out, and I was right. But it took some twists and turns to get there. Dory Winslow portrays strength, determination, and faith. She wants to make amends for helping get her then boyfriend’s father sent to prison for murder. Having read other books in this group, I have to say I definitely enjoyed this one. The family bonds in this story drew me in. The storyline moved along at a good pace. Faith definitely played a part in this story. Ultimately the ending was one that satisfied me and left me with the sense the storyline was complete. So if you like Christian suspense novels, check out this book for yourself. I received a copy of this book for my fair and honest review. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

As I have come to expect in a Dana Mentink novel, the story is action packed from the beginning, full of nail-biting suspense, relationships dealing with forgiveness and reconciliation, and just the right amount of romance.
This story could definitely be read as a standalone, but do yourself a favor and read the entire series so you get to know all the men of Roughwater Ranch and you will be able to appreciate the character updates in this story.
I was given a complimentary copy of this book by the author and Netgalley. All opinions expressed are my own. ( )
