The pyramid we last saw sitting in the middle of Chicago is still there. Unfortunately, in the nature of government "intelligence" everywhere, somebody in a suit just has to mess with it. And of course, they can't listen to the experts that managed to survive last time; or rather they don't actually want input from the ones who survived. Although kidnapping a few of them and holding their families hostage for their good behavior is okay.... Having prepared for an expedition back to Greece, Hoplite armor and all - well, you know what they say about best laid plans? Lets just say Scandinavia in winter is a wee bit chilly if you're wearing a skirt.

Fun! It's been a while since I read Pyramid Scheme, so I'd forgotten a few details, but there's enough background worked in that even if you hadn't read the first installment it wouldn't have been a problem. ( )

The Krim pyramid is still in the middle of Chicago, with an exclusion zone around it to keep anyone else from getting snatched. Unfortunately, the newly formed Pyramid Security Agency, staffed largely by incompetents, has decided to send in a team to rescue a bureaucrat who was left behind the last time. They attempt to kidnap Cruz and Mac to assist them. Things go very wrong, and a mixed bag of PSA agents, plus several of the survivors of the last mission, end up in Norse Ur-Mythology. Now Jerry, Liz, Lamont, and Marie must avert Ragnarok and figure out how to get themselves and four children home safely, hindered all the while by the PSA agents.
