I appreciate the effort of anybody who writes a book and I was happy to receive this from the publisher as a free copy. I enjoy the true crime genre but I'm more of a "just the facts" type of reader. The authors say that they are trying to reach a larger audience by presenting a simpler text. I appreciate that, and they did a good job telling each murderer's story using a fictional narrative approach. The editor in me wanted to rearrange the text, fix a few punctuation marks, and create larger paragraphs. The many short paragraphs in the book hurt the flow of the narration. This is an interesting read for anybody who likes real crime. ( )Esta reseña ha sido escrita para Sorteo de miembros LibraryThing. I received an ARC in return for a review. The subject matter contained in this book was fascinating and held a lot of promise but the style and presentation left a bit to be desired for me. I understand the style and writing are to appeal to all levels and types of readers but if you want more in depth and fleshing out of each story, this will leave you wanting for more. As an introductory or summary for each of these cases though, this one should work for you. Esta reseña ha sido escrita para Sorteo de miembros LibraryThing. I received a Mobi.file ARC [Advanced Reader’s Copy] of this book through a giveaway the authors had for this book, and the copy is my honest opinion. We know through song that: The stars at night Are big and bright. The prairie sky Is wide and high The sage in bloom Is like perfume The coyotes wail Along the trail The rabbits rush Around the brush The cowboys cry Ki-yip-pee-yi All of which are deep in the heart of Texas. While all this might be true, there’s a dark foreboding secret lurking there as well. For deeply rooted in its history, which can’t be allowed to happen, Texas has been fraught with a scourge with a blood-bed of sensational murders and serial killings. The most notable of which is the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, Texas’ serial killers have reaped a horrific toll on the state’s populace. The book takes its readers throughout Texas, giving them the “cream of the crop” stories of the state’s most vicious and heinous perpetrators of mayhem and serial killings. There stories of 10 men from Dean Corll to George Hasell, and for good measure, there’s also one woman, Kimberly Clark Fowler. Each of the stories. Written by the authors of this anthology of Texas murders, readers get the crucial facts regarding each person the book contains, dwelling into the possible motives for the crimes they’re guilty of committing. Murders in Texas is the third entry in the series created by the authors; the book is a must-read for any aficionado of the True Crime genre, including this fascinated reviewer. I’m saying this because I get enthralled by reading/reviewing nonfiction Christian books, and I’m curious to know why this happens. It is for this reason, I’ve given this book and its authors 5 STARS sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
