If I thought the killer was impossible to find in the first two books...that was doubled about a thousand-fold in this one, the last of the trilogy. This one also creates and explores the relationship between Josh, the hotel owner, and Lucas, one of the FBI agents in town to follow up on the case of the bodies discovered in a sinkhole. I am the world champion when it comes to reading books out of order but believe me that you absolutely have to read these three in order to ever begin to understand what is going on with the characters and with the story. The story is suspenseful and the crisis moments compelling. There is also more romance in this one but be aware that they are same sex. You can get a hint of who the killer is, but it happens fairly late in the book, and the way the author leads up to the revelation does not prepare you for how viciously depraved and determined they actually are. In a nutshell, this was a wonderfully done series, (trilogy), with loving, delightful, warm, believable characters. The twists and turns were both heartbreaking and very bizarre, definitely making it a keep on reading page turner. ( )
