Fiction. Romance. HTML:

I never dreamed I'd meet my celebrity crush while stealing every single pair of my best friend's pants.

Trust me, my life is not that wild. In fact, the most excitement I usually get is running my fan-favorite Insta thirst account featuring butt-tastic pics of Hollywood superhero Carter Hayes. So, imagine my shock when, in the middle of the cruise ship hallway, I realize the guy whose shirt I'm stuffing slacks inside of is Carter disguised as a tourist. How I manage not to faint dead away, I've got no clue.

When word leaks that Carter might be on board, he asks me to help him maintain his cover. There's no way I'm gonna say no to that. I just don't share that I'm the anonymous woman behind the fan account that reported sighting him onboard. No biggie. Right?

However, when things between us go from friendly to hot to OMG-I-can't-keep-my-clothes-on-around-him, all I can do is hope he never discovers my secret. You see, somewhere along the way, Carter went from an untouchable movie star to the man I'm falling for.

Five friends. One singles cruise. So many sexy shenanigans. Be sure to check out all of the books in the Gone Wild series!

This wild and wacky romantic comedy by Avery Flynn will have you guffawing out loud so watch out. Aubrey comes across as a wild child/party girl but in reality, she lives a quiet and routine life in a small backwater town. The only thing that brings the most excitement in her life is anon fangirl page for Carter Hayes. She defines the word "online stalker". So the last person she expects to run into during one of her shenanigans is her hardcore celebrity crush.

Carter is undercover on a singles cruise as a pre-requisite for a role he needs desperately so that he can break free from his stereotyped character. And Aubrey is just the person he needs to act as his buffer and throw people off his trail. But when his presence on board makes its way on to the internet his career and privacy are threatened. Saying anything more about what happens next would be a spoiler alert so just get a copy and read the whole story. But prepare yourself for a little bit of both happy and sad tears.

Sexy celeb shenanigans
5 stars

Falling in love with a Hollywood star isn’t really a trope that I often read - I find it all a little far-fetched if I’m honest. But this is Avery Flynn, and in my eyes, she can write any trope - any thing - and I will love it!

And I loved this book!

Five friends are having a reunion of sorts, meeting up for a holiday on a singles cruise. Each friend gets his/her own book - all part of the Gone Wild series. However each book stands completely alone and since there’s no mention of love interests for the other friends in this book - I’m assuming that the events of each of the five books all take place at the same time.

I wasn’t sure if I would Aubrey at first - she was a little sarky and was a little off with Carter, despite the fact she all but stuffed a bunch of trousers down his shorts on their first meeting! But I warmed up to her as she bantered, flirted and fell in love with Carter. The pair had epic chemistry and even the way Aubrey first described Carter (a hot boy scout type she wanted to ruffle up) gave me the happys.

I really enjoyed Carter’s character, too. He’s even got a brother he interacts with in this book and I am a major sucker for any book that includes friendly guy banter - I love it! Despite his celebrity status, Carter was just a normal guy. Okay, no - he was a hot, hunky superhero. The little scene on the flight with the little boy gave me unexpected feels. The perfect hero all round.

I’m also not usually a huge fan of a story that involves someone doing something very wrong and then we just slowly keep reading - waiting for the happiness that our couple are building to come to a crashing end. Now, I’m not saying that I enjoyed it in this book, but it didn’t last long and the rest of the wonderfulness of the rest of the book more than made up for my brief moment of discomfort!

The best thing about Avery’s books is her unique, quirky voice. You can tell that she’s got a wicked sense of humour and that comes across in both her writing and in her characters. They’re both something special and you are guaranteed to laugh, swoon and sigh.

This is exactly the kind of book that I needed - a happy, funny, cute and sexy read that’s realistic but yet just far-fetched enough to transport you right onto that singles cruise and away from reality for a couple of hours. Perfect. ( )
