Nice imaginative book about the desire to runaway, but still have room for family. ( )

While her mother teaches a music lesson and her older sister tells her to "find somewhere else to play," a little girl writes a note and runs away - to the lilac in the backyard, where she uses cardboard to recreate their house in miniature, and her mother and sister eventually join her.

The warm, yellowy-green tones of the illustration and square trim size are inviting; it's a lovely story. ( )
