4 stars because I'm not really a fan of the whole "I'm not going to talk to the other person I'm just going to be MAD" trope. but I had fun with this. I liked the characters and how they were fleshed...but I found myself putting the book down a lot to just digest the fact that they were not communicating well. ( )
Just a passing nod to Pride and Prejudice. And from a long distance, too. I can tell I am not enjoying a book when I notice errors in it. The errors in the German sentence, the statement about the smell of nicotine, etc. A fine book to borrow from the library and read when nothing more interesting is happening. ( )
Solid 3.5 for me, only rounded down because there was no afterward. Like a flash 6 months forward or something. I understand that having an immediate sequel made it harder but I think I’ve just come to really expect and enjoy that from romances as like the final word on it. But overall a really solid romance novel :) I loved the holiday setting and as a Capricorn I have a soft spot for what Darcy went through. The only thing that kept it from 4 stars I think is the instant connection trope throughout the book. It just seemed like it was a little over the top for how guarded Darcy was. But that’s 10000% personal preference. If you like really mushy love at first sight romances you will love this. And I really enjoyed it, I just think the third book in the series was a little more my taste. Overall I do recommend this book and I enjoy the author a lot. ( )
