"Emily Writes" is a glimpse into the life of Emily Dickinson. As is the case with picture book biographies, so much of the book is true (and the author shares notes in the back about certain scenarios.) I really loved how there was emphasis on "straight lines and curves" (as it pertains to writing) and rhyming words. I could see highlighting elements of this in my ECRTR trainings!)
The illustrations are gorgeous. Watercolors I think. All in all, I will add this one to my biography recommendations. What is cool is that my library cataloged it with our fiction topics under "Learning and Growing." Perhaps it will get more circulation as a result! ( )
