Everyone needs to read them. Everyone needs to read them to their children and their grandchildren. These books are supposed to be taught in school. Such a positive way of spreading love and rightful thinking. A beautifully written book with a very interested cliffhanger. This one did remind me a little bit of the Renegades series by Marissa Meyer. Superhero teens with secret identities. The story surrounds a cadre of likeable high school friends complete with LGBTQ romances. One of the main characters also has ADHD. There are lots of secondary characters whose sweet interactions add to the enjoyment of this novel. First in a series. Nick Bell, a 16-year-old with ADHD, has a big crush on and writes fanfic about the local superhero, Shadow Star. There were some definite eye-rolling moments with what felt like didactic tick-box inclusion of identities rather than actual characters but also some very funny moments and everything can be forgiven because the reader ends up rooting for the adorable central character, Nick. The last quarter after the not totally unexpected big reveal is an exciting superhero/supervillain battle. I had already decided to continue with the series when the post-credit scene hooked me in even further. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

Nick Bell? Not extraordinary. But being the most popular fanfiction writer in the Extraordinaries fandom is a superpower, right? After a chance encounter with Shadow Star, Nova City's mightiest hero (and Nick's biggest crush), Nick sets out to make himself extraordinary. And he'll do it with or without the reluctant help of Seth Gray, Nick's best friend (and maybe the love of his life). No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |

I do love a fun superhero / secret identity subplot though ( )
