In Sarah's house, the Bible and the Koran sit together on a shelf - two books bursting with stories... Sarah loves her two grandmas - Grandmother Azar and Grandmother Maria. Grandmother Azar tells Sarah stories from the Holy Koran, while Grandmother Maria tells her stories from the Bible. At Christmas time, Sarah snuggles in each of her grandmothers' laps and listens to two nativity stories about the birth of baby Jesus. They are the same in some ways, and different in others... But both can be Sarah's favourite. No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |

It's the story of Sarah who has two grandmother's. Like most of us. Only one of them is Christian and the other is Muslim. They both tell her their version of the Christmas story. Sarah struggles because she loves both of them.
While I have my own doctrinal beliefs, the reason I wanted this book in the collection was because of its diversity. I have never really found a diverse Christmas book before that relates what many families undoubtedly experience--the melding of beliefs--especially around the holidays. I like that this book was about finding something of commonality. Tearing people down for being different is usually far more prevalent (in real life anyway)
I want to read this one to my own children at Christmas one day ( )
