This book is all about the Nile crocodile specifically and how the female crocodiles lay eggs and protect them. The whole books leads up to the babies being hatched while it leads the reader to wonder why the mother crocodile won't hunt or eat anything. Once the babies are born, the mother carries them in her mouth to water to eat her first meal since she laid the eggs and the babies eat insects and small frogs while resting on her back. ( )
