Beyond that it is one of the better structured stories (story line, writing, characters and flow), candidly if the quality can be maintained at this level would like to see a series come out of this one. There is nothing terribly exotic about the story. It is a pretty straight law enforcement story regarding human trafficking between the EU and the United States. In this instance it involves the all time favorite this century baddies, the Russian mob, and a lone gatherer in the Netherlands. Any time the Russian mob is mentioned in a story automatically violence and blood shed comes to mind. While the violence and blood shed is not a significant part of the story there is sufficient there as it does appear it is obligatory when they are involved. The principle character is a Miami police officer who is assigned to an interdepartmental task force working in human trafficking in South Florida and Miami in particular. For a change the character development of the primary character is fairly reasonable and all told I found they made him rather interesting. To help things out the story did include operations and time in both the Netherlands and Miami which gave an interesting entry into a potential love interest for our hero. With 4 stars it is obvious I enjoyed this and it is quite a bit lighter than some I have recently read so it was a refreshing interlude. There are few James Patterson books I can't recommend because he does write different levels of enjoyable mind candy. Yeah, I addicted to his mind candy! But, this one should be read by anyone who even only halfway enjoys Patterson's writing. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
Pertenece a las seriesTom Moon (1)
Detective Tom Moon and his multi-talented team face off against an international crime ring looking to seize control of America's most vibrant city, Miami. The city of Miami is Detective Tom Moon's back yard. He's always kept it local, attending University of Miami on a football scholarship, and, as a Miami PD officer, protecting the city's most vulnerable. Now, as the new leader of an FBI task force called "Operation Guardian," it's his mission to combat international crime. Moon's investigative team discovers that the opportunistic "Blood Brothers" -- Russian nationals Roman and Emile Rostoff -- have evaded authorities while building a vast, powerful, and deadly crime syndicate throughout Europe and metropolitan Miami. Moon played offense for UM, but he's on the other side of the field this time. And as the Rostoffs zero in on a target dear to Tom, they're not playing by anyone's rules.
